Cyclone Sidr struck on 15 November 2007, devastating coastal districts and forcing millions of people to abandon their homes. More than 3,000 people were killed and 250,000 homes were completely destroyed. is the 7th most populous country in the world, with most people earning less than £1 a day
Following his recent visit to affected areas in , Shaykh Ahmed Babikir has agreed to help the people by repairing or building new homes for people who have been affected by this disaster. In the short term Ulfa Aid wants to build around 80 new houses and repair approximately 20. In the long term we hope to build more houses and also support orphans insha’Allah.
