The charity operates as the occupational benevolent fund for those in need in the banking community. The objects of the charity are: • The advancement of education and the relief of poverty and sickness amongst the children of special categories of employees; and • The relief of poverty and sickness amongst bank employees, their families, children and dependents.

The Bankers Benevolent Fund supports older people, those with disabilities, and provides educational support for disadvantaged young people.  Recently it has been reaching out to more beneficiaries by forming a partnership with the National Autistic Society to support families who are affected by autism.  So far this year they have supported 69 families and 145 children through this programme alone.
