When we were told that our daughter Ruth at only 2 years of age had developed Stills disease (a form of Juvenile Arthritis) we were shocked!

There followed years of hospital treatment involving Physiotherapy, wearing of splints, Medication, and many days off school.

During this time I got involved in a charity doing research into Arthritis, ARC  (Arthritis Research Campaign). Over the years I have done various fund raising events for them, including cream teas, a barn dance, and a sponsored coast-to-coast walk on Hadrian’s Wall.

This year I am doing a 9-day Trek on The Great Wall of China!

It will be a tough challenge for me walking on very steep and remote sections of the wall. There will be some hard training to do in preparation for my trip in October. I am funding the trip myself but on top of this I have to guarantee a minimum of £1000 sponsorship for the charity!
