Hey, my name is Luke McGuire, and after learning about the New Foundations team  at Trace and finding out what they do, I felt obliged to help in whatever way I could. So I decided to go on a 7 mile sponsored run with no shoes or socks on, (barefoot) something which took me alot of training and preperation for. Bearing in mind I couldn't run for 7 miles WITH shoes on at that point. I completed the run on Sunday 11th November 2007, and needless to say it was hard, painful and tiring. Well, it's all over with now, but there are still a few days left before this page expires. If you haven't donated yet, please do. Not for me, but for the people of Africa who really desperately need it. Thankyou.

The work these people do is incredible and really helpful towards the people who are in desperate need of it, and by donating money you won't believe how much you are actually helping. I'm aware that my little challenge might not appeal as worthy, and I don't think I'll be able to spread the word enough for me to raise a great deal, but every little donation could make a great difference to people's lives.

Basically;

"£5 will pay for:

• seven patients to be treated
• 10 children to be vaccinated against measles, tetanus, polio and given Vitamin A
• over twelve months 3 people will receive sight
• Just 80p can provide an antimalarial injection that saves a childs life
• three treated mosquito nets for children

                 All money goes to the programs - we have NO paid administrative staff"

I'm not asking everyone to pay out great deals, heck I'm not even demanding as much as a fiver, but if you can donate some money, please do so. You have no idea how much you're helping.
