Hi this is team Barnabus; we are a group of staff, volunteers and supporters and we are taking part in the Barnabus Heaton Park 10k and 5k Fun Runs as part of our Barnabus Fun Day.
Please encourage us all with your messages and generous donations as we do our best to train for this event, this year Barnabus celebrates 20 years of supporting and reaching out to the homeless and vulnerable in Manchester. Money raised will support our vital work.

Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity based in Manchester. We started 20 years ago with just one man walking the streets, giving out food and drink to the homeless.
We now offer a lifeline through our city centre drop-in, outreach and various projects. Our Drop-in Centre is a safe place where people can get help, we’re typically visited around 350 times each week and offer; showers, food, clothing, toiletry/dignity packs and blankets. Our support workers and volunteers befriend, listen and help connect people to emergency shelters and accommodation, offer advice on benefits and source new ID.
We have our own health and wellbeing centre, offering basic first aid and work with appropriate specialist services to help support those with mental health issues and/or drug and alcohol problems. Our English, Maths, ITC , Arts and Crafts, Basic Cooking and Budgeting classes and collaborative Allotment and Street Soccer Projects all promote a sense of belonging, community and increase skills helping to support and help those we meet, back into mainstream society.
We have received the 'unsung heroes' Queens award for Voluntary Service, but we do not receive any government funding, we rely entirely on donations.
