Hello and thank you for making it to our sponsorship page.
On August 5th we will be doing the London Triathlon for Survival International, so please help us raise as much money as possible for a really worthy cause.
At the end of January, briefly forgetting that neither of us could swim more than a length without wheezing like an 80-year-old Woodbine fan, we signed up for the full Olympic distance race. This means 1.5km of swimming, 40km of cycling, 10km of running and a lot of cursing all that early optimism.
We have been working pretty hard on the training already, and are now starting on the all-important raising of cash. We will feel less stupid inflicting all this pain on ourselves if someone in need of our help was benefitting.
Survival works incredibly hard to secure the rights of some of the world's most vulnerable people. In one of the many cases they support, they recently funded a court victory which should have allowed the Kalahari Bushmen of Botswana to return to their ancestral land after being forcibly relocated.
Unfortunately the San are still fighting for justice from the Botswana government and Survival's help is still very much needed.

And any issue that manages to unite Guardian and Telegraph writers clearly has right on its side!

So please dig deep and help us and Survival!
Many thanks,
Barney and Mike
