As you are already aware, to the great delight to many of you, I will reach the BIG 50 this year.
During an evening with a fellow half centurion Simon, we came up with an event to celebrate this milestone and raise money for charity. After one or two beers !! We decided to cycle 50km for our 50th Birthday’s and ‘S.B. 50k 4 50th‘ was created. Not wanting to make it too easy, we are completing this off road cycle across the South Downs. Bearing in mind, neither of us has been on a bike for over 15 years, this is a tough challenge. This will take place on Sunday 30th May, 2010, starting at Devils Dyke. The training has started, padded shorts have been purchased and we will be joined by over 30 of our family and friends. We will all be raising money for the Child Bereavement Charity, which is very close to our hearts. Sue and I lost our daughter Emma, 24 years ago, our sons Stuart ,Sam & Tom will be riding with us. The Child Bereavement Charity is the UK's leading charity in supporting families and educating professionals both when a baby or child dies, or where a child is bereaved of someone important in their life. For further details please click on the link below- www.childbereavement.org.uk Please support my challenge by donating as much as possible, either through my just giving page, or by sending a payment through to our head office, please make cheques payable to the "Child Bereavement Charity". Many thanks for your support!!
