Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm trekking to Everest base camp in aid of Sue Ryder... ... It will take place from 16th October until 1st November... 2_March_UPDATE: Most of the 24 of us from across Gala Coral met for the first time last week at St John's Hospice, Bedfordshire. It was good to see everyone with the positive attitudes needed to firstly raise a combined total of £100k for Sue Ryder Care and also to start to bond as a team to get us all to the Base Camp safely. I am currently planning some money raising events/days and will list them, including dates, on my next update... please attend/help with these..!!
13_April_UPDATE: I would like to say a massive thankyou to all the players from the Coral 5-a-side footy competition, who raised a combined total of £700 towards my trek!! I will be back for the game against the best of Wales... let's have it! Also, I have recently confirmed my Charity Race Night. It will take place at Stirchley WMC on 5th June 7:30pm start. All over 18's are welcome!! please come and show your support. The night will include an auction of footy shirts/tickets, horseracing tickets etc... see you there :0)
29_June_UPDATE: It's time to get stuck into the training!! Most of us who are on the trek are climbing scafell pike as a nice walm up on July 10th/11th, it will be good to bond with everyone and also test our fitness! My Racenight was successful, It raised £360 and I had a carboot a few weeks later which raised £62... I am now 67% into my target of £4k, all is going well... My next two fundraising ideas are a poker night at Gala Casino in Birmingham and a Chareoke night in Bearwood, watch this space for details...
29_July_UPDATE: ok, done the lakes, Hellvelyn was more successful than Scafell Pike... must have pushed myself a little hard on the first day... but my knee is fully recovered now and i'm gettin on with the training! I turned 33 on Monday and celebrated with a weekend in Amsterdam, possibly the flattest city in the world, not the best preperation for Everest, but from here on in it's hills and mountains all the way... let's have it! THANKYOU to everyone who has sponsored me around my birthday, I really appreciate it! Only another grand to go now! feel free to support me from now until October...
04_September_UPDATE: Training is going really well! havn't felt this fit ever...
I had confirmation of my charity poker night today. it will be on sunday 20th september at gala casino, hill st, birmingham. 8pm start. £10 entry with 2 re-buys. please come along and bring a friend!
