Everest Base camp the journey of a lifetime…….Simon and Jayesh
In October we have two representatives for O2e attempting this once in a lifetime feat. Leaving the on 16th October and flying into Kathmandu, . The trek starts in earnest on the 18th, walking to Phakding from Lukla (the nearest air strip to Everest) and then onto Namche Bazaar on the 19th when the first day of acclimatization will start.
Over the next three days Simon and Jayesh will make their way to Dingboche when another day of acclimatisation will be a necessary step towards their goal. From here they will go via Lobuje and the famous Gorak Shep arriving at base camp on the 27th October. After a day at base camp the whole process will be reversed and on the 3rd Nov they will return to the to hopefully recount their journey and show us the photos.
The O2e patron, Chris Moon, has laid down the challenge to get an O2e logo photo in the strangest places in 2009. We thought near to the top of the world would be a good place.
We are aiming to raise money to help support the Charity Ordinary 2 Extraordinary a unique charity that aims to stimulate the individual to take on a physical challenge but at the same time raise money for smaller charities- mainly children. We are delighted to do our bit to help.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ordinary 2 Extraordinary (O2e) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
