Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

I was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. I am due to have an operation on April 22nd. I am cycling from Bath to the Isle of Wight (100 miles) on 16th April. Please dig deep and sponsor me online!

My name is Stuart Farrimond, I am a 25 year old hospital doctor and am training toward passing exams in General Practice. I live in Trowbridge and am married to Grace, a self-employed florist.

If you're interested in finding out more about my cycle ride or would like to join in then email: bath2isleofwight@yahoo.com

UPDATE!!

I completed the cycle ride successfully, in a little under 12 hours! Everything went incredibly smoothly - no punctures, injuries or accidents!

UPDATE 2!!

I have had my operation to resect the tumour and am now out of hospital - record time (23rd April)! Slightly sore head but feeling ok!

UPDATE 3! (25th April)

Unfortunately, I've had a bit of a set-back: after being discharged in good time, I had a generalised seizure this morning and was readmitted to hospital today for observation and starting anti-epileptic medications.

UPDATE 4!! (30th April)

I am now making a steady recovery although my head feels like lead! The histology result shows the tumour to be a "Grade 2 astrocytoma". I'm still waiting to hear if I need chemotherapy. Thank you for all the support and messages received.

UPDATE 5!! (9th June)

Have been making gradual improvements and am due to start back at work on 23rd June on a part-time basis to begin with. Thanks again for all the support.

UPDATE 6 (15th August)

Unfortunately, my recovery has been somewhat beset with fits, memory problems, and difficulties at work. I am due to take long term sick leave.

The website will be online until 22nd August, if you'd like to keep in touch with what's going on and any further fundraising please email me

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brain Tumour UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
