Story
Thanks for reading.
This summer a bunch of us from Blue Coat are climbing Kilimanjaro. All the money I raise through justgiving will go to Myton Hospice's Children's work "Rainbow Ripples". We are collectively aiming to raise enough money to fund a children's bereavement for a year.
Rainbow Ripples are amazing, part of Myton Hospice, providing free end of life care for patients and support for their families. They receive no funding from government but provide dignity to those that need it the most.
I've now done all my run up events:
Myton Hospice Santa Dash - 5K run, Coventry Half Marathon, Coventry Sprint Triathlon, Blue Coat [Olympic Length] Triathlon and Two Castles (10K run from Warwick to Kenilworth).
None of the money raised will go towards the cost of going to Kili, I've paid that separately, already in full.
We leave for Tanzania on Friday 21st of August. It will take five days to climb the mountain and two to come back down. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, 5895m, the highest free standing mountain in the world and the highest trekkable point on the planet. It's big, it's going to be tough but it's going to be amazing.
So this is me not having a mid life crisis, but having an adventure and raising money for something really worthwhile all at the same time.
