The team made it and has now completed what was the hardest and most challenging fundraiser any of them have undertaken yet. But everyone of them made it to the top without serious injury just a few aching and stiff bodies.
The weather the day before had left them hoping that the sun would shine but as they woke to get to the start the skys opened.
If cycling, using only your arms, 70 miles up hill from Ben Nevis to the Cairngorm ski hill wasn't hard enough it continued to rain for the first 30 miles.  The pains and aches started early on in the first major up hill stretch but by the time everybody made it to the final climb up to the Cairngorm ski hill every bone and muscle in their bodies was aching there was nothing left in the tank it became a mind game and the whole team had their own personal battle to make it to the top.
The emotions were running high as the satisfaction and relief of everyone reached the top and finish. They were then reward with speeds of 50mh back down the hill.
The ride had seen them cycle past some beautiful Scottish scenery (even if it wasn't the best day for it) It was a great triumph for them all to have taken on the ride and win. Thanks for all those who were there to support and encourage and those that have sponsored the team. It means a lot to everybody and will be a massive part of helping the team reach their potential on the snow where they are more comfortable riding at speed downhill.

Anna Turney who can't take part in the bike ride will be taking on a mad challenge all of her own swimming 7km to coninside with the ride and to help raise the much needed funds for the least funded Paralympic Sport.

This will be the British Teams main fundraising effort this year to raise much needed funds for the everyday running of the team as well as helping the team develop and build on the success of the last couple of years. In the last couple year the team has won 5 World Cup Medals. They have progressed from sending 3 athletes to the 2006 Winter Paralympics to 7 in Vancouver, gaining 5 top 10 places narrowly missing out on the podium.

The team now also has a strong development and youth team which are pushing for places for Sochi 2014 but as always with a growing team comes growing costs and to help the future of the British Disabled Ski Team take the next step to Paralympic Glory we really do need all the help we can get.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the British Disabled Ski Teams JustGiving page and dig in to your pockets as every penny will make a massive difference and you can be part of the Teams future success.
