Some questions that have arisen since the idea originated?

Q. Why?

A. Its for charity.

Q. Who is eligible?

A. Anyone.

Q. Are girls excluded?

A. No. Some were approached during the original concept stage, however details can’t be released until the HR meetings are concluded.

Q. "I only grow 2mm of stubble a year. What can I do?"

A. We extend our sympathy. You can do one of two things. Either go to your local pharmacy for some sort of hormones or something; or have a sneaky head start now.

Q. What are the rules?

A. From the morning of the 1 May, you need to start growing some sort of beard/ moustache/ MASSIVE side burns or some other significant facial hair. ‘Flavour savers’ (a 1cm square patch located under the lips) do not qualify.

Q. What happens at the end of May?

A. On May 31st all participants must submit beards to Facebook for inspection by the Beard Aid executive team.

Q. I already have a beard. What can I do?

A. Good question. You have a variety of options: Shave it off and start again; change it considerably (go from a beard to a moustache for instance); be more creative…

Q. Why not just unrestricted facial hair growth during May?

A. Good point, and one raised by some members of the organising sub-committee. The reason why the hair needs to be styled is because we have a number of high profile clients coming into the office throughout May, and looking at a bunch of hairy Neanderthals may put them off.

Q. I’m an information junkie/ nerd/ geek/ billy-no-mates. Is there any other information I can get?

A. Sure, we have setup a Facebook group called Beard Aid (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2312778242) I’m sure a MySpace page will appear in due course.
