My story

On the 18th of July Brad, Laurence and Johanna are leaving blighty for a trip across a quarter of the world to Ulammbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. This is part of the 2009 mongol Rally, http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com/, we will be equiped with a completely inappropriate one litre car, a mighty Suzuki Swift , painted in slightly faded go fast red. This little beast of burden will be propelling 200KGs of South Africanite and a little bit of Sweden too, over 10,000 miles of some of Central Asia's finest roads. Our Team name is BeatToEast, Brad thinks the beast is the car, actually i was thinking of him when i thought of it, luckily for me Bread like that idea too.

The Mongol Rally is a charitable event and we are raising funds for the Mercy Corp, which supports rural communities and herding families through economic, educational and agricultural programmes. Over the past six years Mercy Corps has established a strong reputation across the vast Gobi region, and continues to work to ensure a robust economy that preserves ancient traditions. Along to route we have planned we are going to be visiting various project Mercy Corps are running in Central Aisa. http://www.mercycorps.org.uk/mongolrally/
