We are delighted to say that we came through our ordeal relativley unscathed. We avoided getting hyperthermia, capsizing, punctures, crashes and cramp to finish in just under 5 hours. Given the wind, sleet and tide we were more than a little surprised by our time. More importantly we were astonsihed by all the people that braved the weather to support the event and of course everyone who has been kind enough to donate to one of the charites that we competed for. There are a couple of photos in the gallery on this page to show we were really there, but others available on request! So........

Neither of us is quite sure how we ended up agreeing to compete together. Although it is billed as a friendly bit of fun it is an extraordinarily gruelling event and while we were able to encourage / scream at each other the fact that the Mermaid Appeal is going to benefit from our pain was much more motivating.
