So.....The Challenge.

To walk the 3 highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1344m), England (Scafell Pike, 978m) and Wales (Snowdon, 1085m).  The total walking distance is around 27 miles, by which time you can pretty much guarantee we'll be tired and in desperate need of rest and refreshment!

Training has already begun, walking out of the building for the photo shoot was Phase 1 complete. Marvellous!

Training Walk #2 - 18th May 2008 Blencathra, Lake District c6.6 miles, 800m

Thankfully another dry day. The real deal this time. Challenging ascent from the outset and this time four of us (Worthing, Walshy, me and Jasper). This time it was the girl that got the blisters. Ouch! Tough on the legs coming down too but a real insight into what Scafell might be like. Gorgeous views and a Sunday roast at The Sportsmans Inn made it all worthwhile :)

Training Walk # 1 - 10th May 2008 Cleveland Way, Roseberry Topping c. 8 miles

It was a scorching hot Saturday and whilst we could only get four of the six of us together we were joined by Jasper Worthing our team mascot, and our team leader's family dog! A Grand Day Out as they say, and really got our legs used to the distance and a couple of steep(ish) ascents. The human element survived admirably, but the poor dog got blisters on his pads....awwwww!

We'll be in good company as thirty something other teams from ntl:Telewest Business will also be fundraising and rising to the challenge. We've exclusively invited you to sponsor us because we know you and you know us. We really hope you can help us raise our fundraising target of £3,000.  If you donate via this page Foyer Federation will receive your money much faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Donating through the site is really easy and also dead secure. Gone are the days of passing round handwritten sponsorship forms, so flex your plastic (as we will seriously have to flex our muscles) and make your donation.

In return we'll keep you posted on our progress after our training walk in May and we'll take the Challenge head on!

THANK YOU

Best of luck! Donation by Alli Courtney on 15/05/08
