Story

Having spent the last 6 years immersed in looking after kids and taking absolutely no excercise at all, it was time to make a change!  We've put together a team of 5 girls who are up for the challenge, and we've spent the last couple of months desperately trying to restore a little of the fitness we used to have.

This assault course seemed like a good idea at the time, although as it gets closer I'm not so sure! It includes nearly 100 obstacles; wading through skips waist deep in  muddy water, climing over huge piles of tyres, lifting sand bags whist simultainiously jumping over traffic barriers, and comando crawling through ice under wires. Not to mention the 8 ft wall at the end that we have to scale!

I am running for The Contented Demetnia Trust because my husband Chris's mother suffers from dementia. In the past 6 months the Trust has helped us enormously with advice and support on how to make Chris's mum's life as good as possible. This is a small but highly effective charity so any help that we can give them in return would be hugely appreciated.

About the charity

Contented Dementia Trust offers a positive, practical and person centred approach to the care of people with dementia. Training is offered to family, friends and professionals to promote well-being for the person with dementia and their carers 24 hours a day, every day, for life.
