Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. All donations are really appreciated!
2 women, 24 peaks, 24 hours, 13,000 ft climbed, 31 miles & very sore feet!
We say..."These boots are made for walking!"
Who & What?
On the 10th & 11th August this year, myself (Becky Hall) and my cousin (Jude Arkle) are attempting to go-it-alone and climb 24 of the lake district's peaks, each one over 2,400 feet high, within 24 hours!
This is a demanding challenge that will test our endurance, mental & physical strength and our navigation skills - YIKES!
Day 1 - We aim to cover 17.5 miles, climbing 10 peaks (Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag, Green Gable, Great Gable, Lingmell, Scafell Pike, Great End, Esk Pike & Bow Fell.)
Day 2 - We aim to cover 14 miles, climbing 14 peaks (Red Screes, Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Fairfield, Seat Sandal, Dollywagon Pike, Nethermost Pike, Helvellyn, Lowerman, Whiteside, Raise, Stybarrow Dodd, Watson Dodd & Great Dodd.
Day 3 - Rest, rest & more rest!
Why?
We fancied dusting off the walking boots and the ever so fashionable waterproofs and setting ourselves a crazy challenge to raise much needed funds and support for Concern Worldwide (www.concern.net/en/); a charity dedicated to alleviating extreme poverty across Africa, Asia, the Carribean & Europe. Concern aims to improve the lives of the world's poorest people through emergency aid and development in areas of education, health & sanitation, HIV & AIDS and livelihood.
If you are able to part with some of your hard earned cash, however much you can afford, we would be really grateful & you're supporting a truely worthy cause.
