It's been one of my life-long ambitions and dreams to run a marathon. I caught the 'running bug' at a young age and, despite knee injuries, have been in countless races including two half marathons!

2012 marks a Guild Year for my home town Preston and to celebrate they are hosting a Marathon, in October, and I'll be runnning it! A gruelling 26 miles over a challenging course. Yes, I'm crazy!!

I'll be fulfilling my dream and also raising money for Hope House. This charity was created to support projects that would benefit needy children, young people and families in North London. They mostly work on the Strawberry Vale estate in East Finchley and run a range of activities that bring opportunites and hope for those that need it.

Remember what Maximus said in Gladiator "What we do in life echoes in eternity"
