UPDATE- Summit Success!!
On 5th November 2010 at around 9.30am (Nepalese time, GMT +4hours 45 minutes) Becky summited Baruntse, gaining a world record as the youngest ever female to do so. She was also the only female to summit Baruntse in the Autumn 2010 climbing season.
The fund-raising in aid of Romsey Gateway Club continues as Becky prepares for Everest, so keep donating what you can! Thank you.

From the day I came up with some crazy plans to climb Everest, mountaineering has become the focus of my gap year, with hours of training and searching for sponsorship.
Baruntse is a mountain in eastern Nepal, standing at 7,129 metres (23,389 feet), higher than any other mountain outside the Himalayas. First climbed in 1954, the South Ridge offers a formidable challenge and views of some of the worlds highest mountains including Everest.
So please dig deep and give whatever you can. It's an amazing charity that I'm really passionate about helping. As a small club, every little donation really does help, so even if it's only a £1, it's still £1 closer to the target! Thank you for your support.
