Hi, I’m Becky and I have been involved with AVYFC as a volunteer helper since September 2008. From July 2009 until August 2010, I will be joining the team as a full time gap year youth and community worker!
I heard about AVYFC through a regular worship event they run and I learnt about their gap year opportunities. I really felt God calling me to spend a year serving the community and young people and I’m really excited about working locally in Aylesbury, where I spent my teenage years.
I have seen a real difference in the young people AVYFC work with and I wanted to be a part of that. It’s great to be able to offer the young people somewhere safe to hang out off the streets. The Youth Cafes are really good fun and I love the positive interaction between young people and adults.
Here is how you can help!!! AVYFC need to fundraise to cover the cost of the internship programme for me, so by making a regular or one off donation, you can support me and the work of AVYFC.
I will be writing a column each month in the AVYFC newsletter In:Spire, so you can hear about what I am involved with and pray for the work. You can subscribe to this newsletter by email or post by visiting the AVYFC website http://www.avyfc.org.uk/register.shtml.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Aylesbury Vale Youth for Christ gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for supporting AVYFC today!
