Thank you all for your generous donations so far, we really appreciate you taking the time to donate and all of your positive comments. A recent thanks to Friends School Lisburn for their generous donation, it helped us over our target of £5,500.
Paul McVeigh, Conor Moss and now Terry Lawlor have foolishly decided to cycle the 450 (or so) miles from their family homes in Belfast to London (we know there is water in between therefore will be getting a boat in Dublin) from 26th May until 30th May to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer.
Just under 40,000 men and women are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK every year, making it the third most common cancer; that's somone every 15 minutes.
We are raising money for Bowel Cancer UK, for more information on the disease visit: http://www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk.
Conor's aunt, Joanne McAreavey (born in West Belfast and moved to London), passed away on January 26 2010 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 47.
Joanne is survived by her husband Andrew and sons Timothy (16) and Euan (13). Joanne will be remembered for her warmth, zest for life, devotion to her family and her sarcastic wit. She is dearly missed by all of her loving friends and family.
As a result of seeing our campaign Terry, a childhood friend, contacted us and will be joining us as a result of a family member recently being diagnosed with Bowel Cancer.
Please give generously to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer and follow us on Facebook and Twitter before, during and after the event.
