With first hand experience volunteering in Cambodia the founding trustees set up HOPE to give the underprivileged children and young adults in Cambodia a chance to have a childhood and/or permanently improve their lives. HOPE intends to seek and support existing programs in Cambodia assisting young people with their education and social development where there is a need for further funding to expand either the variety of their activities (eg. provision of English classes or computer classes) or increase the number of young people they can support, where we strongly believe it will make a permanent difference/improvement to the young people in the programs, and where we can monitor the progress and results of the program. Story

Hey!

We're planning on attempting to trek the inca trail in order to raise some money for 'HOPE'. The Inca Trail is a 45km trek through the mountainous jungle, leading to the sacred Inca city of Machu Picchu. It takes the average person 4 days to complete, and baring in mind that we're not the most active people, and we found it difficult to complete a 5 hour Duke of Edinburgh bronze award (ended up taking us 8 hours...arriving at the campsite in tears, resulting in our friends pitching our tent, cooking our food, and even taking our shoes off for us...thanks rosie!...) this trek should be quite a feat for us, so please give generously!

HOPE is a charity which works closely with Cambodian orphans, many of whom have lost their parents due to malaria, landmines, HIV/AIDS, etc. HOPE aims to help prepare orphans for future life, gaining them the skills they need to be independent, as it is often difficult to improve their career prospects without any help. This charity is close to us as we are also planning on volunteering at one of the projects while visiting Cambodia to see exactly how the money we raise has helped.

http://www.hopeforcambodia.org.uk/about/

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

THANK YOU!!! xxxxxxx
