Did you know that one in five people in Wales have some form of lung condition ? It's pretty staggering isn't it ? I have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). This is me with two local policemen at our first abseil event. Can you see the tube in my nose ? That's for oxygen. I need it and medication just to lead a normal life. There is no cure - the condition has to be managed.

Breathe Easy groups are there to support people like me. There are groups all over Wales. They are a part of British Lung Foundation Wales which works hard for all people with lung conditions, by funding research, BLF nurses (Wales now has its first one in Powys), setting up an exercise programme which is vital in keeping us well, campaigning for a better deal and in many other ways.

We will have lots of brave people taking part on the day and in the last three years we have raised £16,500. This has been used to buy a Spirometer and other equipment for the Community Respiratory Team and for the work of British Lung Foundation Wales. The event is run by Call of the Wild, a local company who give their time and expertise free of charge to help our cause.
