Hello my lovelies!
As you may remember, I was due to run the London Marathon last year but had to pull out at the last minute due to the dreaded shin splints.
I was really disappointed, particularly as so many of you had been generous enough to sponsor me.
Thankfully though, my place has been kept open so that I could run the race this year, and your donations have 'rolled over' as it were, and to so many of you, please accept my heartfelt thanks.
Like last year, I'm running to raise money for 'Starlight', a children's charity that grants wishes to sick and terminally ill children.
The charity has allocated each of it's runners an individual wish to grant, and your sponsorship money will go towards helping Lily, a very brave 13 year old girl with renal disease.
She has been in and out of hospital for most of her life, having her first surgery at just two and a half years old. Other intrusive and non intrusive operations though necessary have unfortunately increased her risk of bladder cancer and infections. She was referred to Great Ormond Street in 2006 because, despite surgery, the prognosis for her kidneys is complex and poor.
I know that times are tough for all of us financially at the moment, but if you have got a few quid to spare, it would be absolutely fantastic if you could sponsor me and help make Lily's dream of ..."travelling by overnight train to Barcelona" and spending a week long holiday there, come true.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Starlight Children's Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
