Great North Run 2015 · 13 September 2015 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Last year I challenged myself to run 2 10k runs, both the Beverley and Hull 10k. This year I wanted to take part in those same events again but also go the extra mile (or 13.5...) and hopefully particpate in the Great North Run. I never for one second thought I would get chosen, but I was fortunate enough to be picked on the second ballot.

I am challenging myself to raise money for the Alzheimers Society. Alzheimers is a cruel disease which has unfortunately affected my family. As well as raising money for the charity, I would also like to raise awareness for the families that help to care for the dementia suffers, which can be the hardest and most emotional part.

Any donation that can be made would be greatly appreciated.
