Story
29/03/09 Update: 20 miles! We had been feeling a bit low lately, but got out and did 20 today. Went brilliantly. 3hrs 7mins, and no major issues. For the first time it feels like a marathon might be achievable!
15/03/09 Update: Silverstone went really well. Hot day, more hilly than expected, but ran 1hr 58mins. Not bad for the half marathon and didn't feel too shoddy afterwards!
07/03/09 Update: Ran our first 16 mile leg. Lost blood, sweat, and (nearly) tears, but it went well. Bring on the Silverstone Half Marathon next week!
12/01/09 Update: Bought running tights! Now look super gay on the streets of Stortford!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
For those of you who don't know, my dad, John Millard passed away in 2006 after a long fight with Cancer. The last few weeks of his life were made bearable only by the unwavering care and attention that he was given by the staff at the St Clare Hospice in Harlow. The level of care he received was amazing, and the whole family were glad that he chose to spend his final days there.
That level of care however comes at a cost, and the Hospice has to rely on charitable donations for 75% of its running costs. These amount to a staggering £2000 a day. I hope therefore that you can help me in my efforts to contribute to this very worthwhile institution.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: St Clare West Essex Hospice Care Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Ben
