Near Naked Man - Raise Awareness, Reduce Embarrassment
On August the 15th, 9 Near Naked Men will embark on a 6 day, 580 miles cycling adventure from Southend in Essex to Galway in Ireland.
'Near Naked Man' is an initiative of the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign. Our aim is to raise awareness of male cancer, and reduce embarrassment.
Too many men die of prostate, bowel and testicular cancer because they do not know how to detect the symptoms in the early stages, when treatment would be more effective.
This ignorance is made worse by the prevailing ‘culture of embarrassment’, that discourages men from discussing and resolving problems related to intimate parts of their body.
Our highly visible cycle ride aims to bring the issue of Male Cancer into the public eye. Help us to educate young men in Britain and Ireland by supporting our cause.
How You Can Help:
- Make A Monetary Donation - any amount will help, but I'm looking for donations of £10 or more - there is an incentive though; For those of you who don't know me, I'm an award winning photographer - I'll be sending out unique 15x10cm signed prints to the first 100 individuals (UK based people only, sorry!) who sponsor £10 or more.
Once you have made your donation, contact me with your postal address and a print will be heading your way.
- Donate a gift for our raffle and Quiz Night - Tom and I will be running an auction and quiz night on the evening of Saturday 6th August - we'd welcome donations - artwork, photographic prints, luxury goods, sporting goods - anything that you think might inspire a bidding audience! - Non Monetary Donations - Do you work for a company that might be able to help in other ways? With a team of 9 guys cycling 100 miles a day, sustenance and recovery are vital! Donations of sports drinks, energy bars, deep heat gel would all be gratefully received! There's opportunities for us to incorporate your branding onto our bikes, helmets and even the support van.
