Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

The company that I work for, Stephen George and Partners, together with their staff are attempting to raise £100,000 per year for the next 3 years to assist Habitat for Humanity in the building of new homes for HIV/AIDS orphans.  Each year they will also sending two teams of volunteers to go over and help actually build them.

For my part, I aim to raise at least £500 for the cause by running the Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday Octoter 26th. This is the by far the furthest I'll have ever run and in preperation, I've been training since late spring. I've now competed in several smaller races around the midlands to gain valuable experience and have managed to post a reasonably respectable time for a 10k run.

My aim to complete the 13.1 miles of the Birmingham half marathon in about 2 hours. For more details of the event itself, please visit the website; http://www.birminghamhalfmarathon.com/

As an added fundraising incentive, Stephen George and Partners are going to double up all donations received this year, up to a total contribution of £20,000.  Furthermore, all money donated to Habitat for Humanity before September 1st 2008 will be doubled again by USAID.  Therefore the £500 I hopefully raise will become £2000 in actual money received by the charity !  For details of the central Stephen George and Partners fund, go to http://www.justgiving.com/stephengeorge-respect.  This shows the total raised so far including my contribution, Stephen George and Partners doubling but less the USAID.

Please remember that whilst £500 is my minimum target I hope to raise a lot more for this worthy cause.
