Between 8th and 11th July 2009 I shall be getting on my bike again and attempting to cycle more than  470 km from London to Paris to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I will be joining around 80 other people in this challenge and we will be cycling for 4 consecutive days.

Although I cycled from London to Paris in 2007 (for the Meningitis Trust) this trip is over a longer route entailing an extra 180 km. It is therefore my toughest challenge yet and will involve many months of hard training!

As you are probably aware, Macmillan Cancer Support helps people in the UK who are living with cancer, providing them with expert care and emotional support. Statistically, more than two million people in the UK today have had a cancer diagnosis and more than one in three will be diagnosed at some time in their life.

I intend to fund the trip myself so that the sponsorship monies I raise will go to Macmillan and I hope to raise at least £1000. I will therefore be very grateful to anybody who is prepared to sponsor me any amount however small for this very worthy cause.
