Story

Berrys Farm Campsite Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign

Berrys Farm Campsite is partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for an external defibrillator to be installed on-site. This life-saving device will be accessible to campers, visitors, and the wider community in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Why a Defibrillator at Berrys Farm Campsite is So Important

Each year in the UK, over 30,000 people experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital, with fewer than 1 in 10 surviving.

When a cardiac arrest happens, every minute counts. Without immediate CPR and defibrillation, survival chances decrease by around 10% per minute. Early access to a defibrillator can make a significant difference.

Campsites like Berrys Farm often host families, walkers, and visitors in rural or semi-rural locations, where emergency response times can be longer. Having a defibrillator on-site could provide vital support in those critical first moments.

How a Defibrillator Will Help the Community

Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance service and available for public use 24 hours a day.

It does not replace emergency services, but it provides immediate, potentially life-saving intervention while help is on the way. The quicker a defibrillator is used, the greater the chance of survival.
