Update 17th July:
Fabulous news.................
Bertie went for a check up with his spinal surgeon yesterday and he was very pleased with his progress. He said that he should continue to have lead walks for a month but that he can then start to have some off lead runs and sees no reason why he shouldn't have a normal life. He also thinks it would be in Berties interest to be fostered with his brother in a month, so the boys will be back together at last.
Well done Bertie, you're a little fighter.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and made it possible for Bertie to get this far. We hope you will continue to support us to help this boy continue his recovery.
Update 27th June:
Bertie has started to make some small improvements, he has uriniary continence although he hasn't yet stood up to do it, he has taken three wobbly steps and will sit up to eat his food. He is still in the vets, the nurses are really brilliant with him and he is never left on his own . They have tried stimulating him with food and a few lady dogs to get him up and about but it is all up to Bertie now to get himself back o his feet. We are taking Wooster, his brother in to see him on Monday to try and encourage him to move about.

Update on Bertie 18th June from our Chair Kirsty.
The MRI went well yesterday and it has been confirmed that Bertie has a slipped disc in the lower neck area, We were able to bring him back that same night but he had to go back into the vets where Mr Russell Chandler was waiting for him. Mr Chandler, who's gone far then the call of duty and has been great with him. As I type now Mr Chandler is operating on Bertie to remove the offending Disc, so please keep it all crossed at it doesn't come without risks.
