Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

St Mary’s Hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-shortening conditions throughout South Cumbria. Less than 20% of our funding comes from the NHS, the rest comes from our supporters. All our services are provided free to patients and their families.

11 mile practice - surely that's worth a sponsor!!

This September I will be running the Bupa Great North Run for St Mary's Hospice. All 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields. And no I am not joking.

I’m running for St Mary’s Hospice because my Mum’s friend works there and I know that they provide amazing care free of charge to patients and families. I also know they need to raise more than £2m per year to keep going so I've decided to get up, get out and help them.

I decided to run the race in January in a bid to get fit and achieve something great in 2012. I decided a marathon was probably a bit far for the girl who used to be so anti-exercise, I did a session of 'walking' in P.E, so I have opted for the biggest half-marathon in the country.

Every penny I raise will go to St Mary's so I would really really appreciate if you could sponser me (and my sore legs/blisters) for my moment of madness! Anything you can donate, big or small, will make a difference.

I am running with my boyfriend - James - who has put up with my moaning and suffered through my tantrums whilst out on a run!! https://www.justgiving.com/jjeans

Thank you!! x
