Hi, thanks for visiting our page.                                                                         On the 16th August Bethaney and I will be in Tanzania attempting to Climb Mt Kilimanjaro (19,340ft) via the Lemosho route. Not only have we got to climb the mountain, but also due to the unrest in neighbouring countries we will probably be dodging a bullet or two, that must be worth a few quid at least. Mt Kilimanjaro is an extinct volcano or so the brochure says and it is one of the world's most recognisable peaks as it rises dramatically above the dusty East African plain with the impressive snow-capped summit awarding awe-inspiring views. Mt Kilimanjaro is also one of the Seven Summits (Highest Mountains on each continent) and climbing via the Lemosho route  includes a scramble up the notorious and precipitous Barranco Wall.

The trip is a SELF FUNDED expedition and rather than missing an opportunity we thought it would be a good idea to try and raise some money whilst doing the climb. All of the money raised will be equally shared with Help for Hero’s Charity and Walking with the Wounded. The fundraising aim of the trip is to try and raise £250 PER CHARITY to help support the families and members of our armed services who have been affected by the current conflicts.

"So many of our Servicemen and women have made the ultimate sacrifice; so many lives have been lost and so many changed forever by the wounds that they have suffered in the course of their duties. For these selfless people, it is after the guns have fallen silent, the din of battle quietened, that the real fight begins – a fight that may last for the rest of their lives. Through this page we hope to play a little part in making a difference and changing lives.

With regards the charity’s, Walking With The Wounded is a UK based charity which funds both the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women with the aim of helping them find long term employment after they have left the Armed Forces. A soldier's sacrifice, though made for his or her country is something that affects others and the charity aims to help those affected by this sacrifice. Help for Heroes is a very popular charity and extremely well known, this charity aims to assist personnel who have been wounded whilst serving in the Armed Forces. They achieve this through making grants to purchase equipment for their rehabilitation, providing support and assistance where required and by just being there when they are needed both financially and emotionally.

Please give whatever you can for two very good causes and if possible pass the link on to your friends and family.

Through JustGiving, you can sponsor Bethaney and me, donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. JustGiving will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.                   Thanks Bethaney Miller & Gary Miller
