Story

It happens to us all and now it has happened to me! A mammoth milestone which I have been very, very fortunate to have reached. Many of you have kindly asked what I would like as a gift. Well, the truth is, I really don't need anything. However, I would be very grateful if you would make a donation to a charity very close to my heart.

Back in my publishing days, I worked with a bubbly, fun-loving lady called Andrea Key. Andrea introduced me to rock n roll and my last memory of her was dancing together at a conference party in Boston, USA. Sadly Andrea died not long after that, aged 42 from an aggressive brain tumour. Some of her colleagues set up a charity called Andrea's Gift in her memory. In 10 years they have raised almost £1.5m to support other patients and to fund brain tumour research.

Last year, the charity trustees changed the name to Brain Tumour Research & Support across Yorkshire in a bid to reach more patients and raise further funds.

If you would like to "buy" me something, nothing would make me happier than if you donated to this fantastic cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
