Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I reached the BIG 40 in March 2009 and to celebrate it I returned to the sky as a passenger in an unpowered glider. I also flew some aerobatics such as a loop the loop and a few tight twists and turns. Those who don’t know me may think it’s no big deal but think again when you see what happened to me 10 years ago when the glider that I was flying in got struck and destroyed by lightning by reading my 'scrapbook' of that days events. Click 'here' to read the story.
I did this to raise awareness and vital funds for the Parkinson's Disease Society who are also celebrating their 40th year this year. My Father in Law (Graham) has Parkinson's and both he and his Wife (Lesley) are active fundraisers. Graham is the Branch Secretary of the Taunton and Mid Somerset branch of the PDS. Graham and Lesley also set up SPARKIES, a section of the branch that caters for those of working age.
Your money will not be used to fund our flights, The London Gliding Club kindly funded the event, give them a call to book your trial lesson on 01582 663 419
The flight has now taken place and we returned the glider to the club in one piece this time!
Donations can still be made and will of course be gratefully received.
Thank you to all those that have already left messages of support and donations it really is very much appreciated and you helped make this a success.
All the very best
Graeme
