THE PLAN
In September of this year I’ll be attempting to swim the 16.5Km that make up lake Windermere, there’s no real reason for this other than it being something to do and also I hope all the training will help to counteract my excessive pizza consumption.
The equation goes something like this, MORE SWIMMING = MORE PIZZA (simple)
Unfortunately I’ve also roped in my dad Steve and my brother Thomas to be my support crew, they’ll be stuck in a rowing boat (no toilet) and making sure I swim in a straight line and get fed correctly.
It’s a bit like three men in a boat, only I’ll be in the water instead.
We’ll be hoping to get sponsor ship from you guys, because you either believe in the cause, or because you simply think it’s a stupid idea, and have appreciated the comedy interlude reading this has provided for your day.
THE CAUSE.
Earlier this year me old Gran passed away after being ill for some time. Although Cancer wasn’t what finally did her in, she suffered from the disease twice in her life and was helped to come to terms with the disease and eventually beat it, by the team at 'Backup Cancer'. Apparently these guys don’t exist anymore (typical) as they have been merged into Macmillan Cancer Support an equally worthy cause. So in honour of my Gran we’ll be supporting these guys.
