On 25th May 2009 we will be running the BUPA London 10,000 in memory of our friend Scott Rennie, and in aid of the charity CRY.

Scott, or Big Ren as he was known, was a dear friend and formidable athlete who died suddenly whilst rowing training in March of this year. Widely expected to make the GB squad and enjoy success at the 2012 Olympics, Scott's dedicated training and positive attitude won him respect from the rowing world and far beyond. Those of us who were fortunate to have enjoyed Scott's company recall the most loyal and supportive of friends who was always considerate, fun and full of humour

Though 10 kilometers would have been a small feat for Big Ren, this will be quite a new experience for some of us running (or trying to!) on the day. The eleven of us taking part comprise of friends of Scott, old and new, as well as his family members.

Please dig deep and give generously. CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD); Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS, SADS).

Also, please come down on the day, the route takes in much of central London with the finish line on the Mall. We'd love to have a picnic with everyone afterwards in nearby St James's or Green Park, share a drink and remember Scott.
