Maggie’s Centres are warm and welcoming places built alongside NHS hospitals that provide the support that people with cancer and their family and friends need. www.maggiescentres.org

Story

On 3rd May 2008, the Great Glen Way beckoned in the form of the Monster Bike & Hike. An attempt to cycle 30 miles and walk/run 43 miles, from Fort William to Inverness, all in 15 hours, in aid of Maggie's Cancer Care Centres.

Well we did it and with 5 minutes to spare!

We managed to finish at 2255hrs (having started with 600 others at 0800hrs) and feeling rather too exhausted to celebrate we crawled into bed by midnight.

The forecasted weather of high winds and driving rain thankfully never materialised and with thanks to our sponsors and our support team, we made it after running 3 of the last 5 miles and with a sprint finish at the Inverness Athletics Club.

And we did it all to raise many for Maggies Centres which provide valuable support to cancer patients and their families to help them both understand and cope with Cancer.

Many thanks for your support.
