Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
On the 1st March it was seven years since my dad died, I figured it was about time I did something to try and raise awareness and money to mean less people died from skin cancer.
I'm told that when I was a little girl I used to love crawling up the sofa just to see what it felt like to fall off the other side. I can't remember this but the sense of fearlessness used to make my dad laugh so in that vain I've gone and done something that was possibly equally stupid.
I was in the French Alps skiing on the anniversary of his death, so I went down a piste in my bikini, slathered head to toe in sun tan lotion (I'm hoping it will have the same effect as duck fat when people swim the channel, I'm ignoring the fact I know it won't).
The serious bit
* There are over 75,000 new cases of skin cancer diagnosed each year in the UK
* Many cases are not reported so the real number of cases is probably much higher
* The number of cases has almost tripled since the early 80s
* Over 2,300 people die from skin cancer each year in the UK
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now - photos and video availiable on request.. or on my facebook page. I really did do this!
Many thanks for your support.
