We did it - many thanks for your support
I have been involved with Penn School for some 12 years now and it continues to grow on me.
We are a non maintained school (which means all of our money comes from local authorities who trust their children to us plus fund raising and donations) for secondary pupils who have communication difficulties. This includes hearing impairment, speech impairment and a quickly growing number of children who are autistic.
To raise funds I will be walking the 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall at the end of May with my younger daughter, Janet.
School Mission Statement
· Our aim is to take children with communication difficulties into our care for some period of their pre-adult life.· To nurture and care for them, to educate them to their highest level of their individual abilities and to prepare them to maximise their achievements in adult life
To see the school in operation caring for and developing the students has been one of the great joys of my life and continues to be a great privilege - if you could see it in operation I am sure that you also would be equally moved.
What do we want the money for? Well the list is endless and growing all the time. White boards, cranial osteopathy, books, specialist hearing aids anything that will aid the development of these very special pupils. BE ASSURED ALL OF THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TO THE SCHOOL AND BE SPENT WISELY. All expenses associated with the walk will be met by me. :)
