At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thank you for visiting our fund-raising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us on-line.

We’re going back again for our 6th year of fund-raising for CLIC at the CLIC-24 hour mountain bike event.

The official CLIC-24 event web site can be found here http://www.clic24.org.uk/, and the event HQ is at the Charterhouse Centre up on the Mendips.

We are entering a team again this year and knowing the off-road course is approximately 10km or just under an hour ride time for us, our challenge once again will be 24 laps in 24 hours!... Perhaps offer to donate extra if we meet our target of 24 laps eg £5 for every lap over our target.

Quote from the last years post-event report, "It’s an often used cliché in this country about having all the seasons in one day but on the Mendips it seems you can get them all in 5 minutes.  Bill was rather enjoying his warm lap in the sun when he was stopped in his tracks by a 30mph gust blowing a storm of hailstones into his face.  That set the precedent for what followed.  The rain meant that the course got very sticky with a surface layer of gloopy mud."

2007 was a mud bath and we managed 22.
2008 dusty & warm for the whole 24 hours, we managed, 'a lot', 28
2009 we had a tough time, 21 laps, but this makes us even more determined to complete 24 this year

Anyway, enough of that, the important thing here is to raise as much cash for CLIC as possible, so please be generous, perhaps skip a takeaway this week and donate the savings.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So, please sponsor us now, don't wait for later or tomorrow, get it out of the way now!

Many thanks for your support, you know where we'll be on the 8th/9th May if you want to pop along for some fresh air and encourage us to meet our 24 lap target.

Thanks again
