Classrooms For Kenya is a charity started by staff and students of The Weald School, West Sussex. The charity's aim is simply to promote education in Kenya by raising funds to build new, permanent and safe classrooms for Kenyan children.

Story

Hi. We are 3 year 11 GCSE students from the Weald School in Billingshurst. As you can see from the photo, some of us have blue or pink hair at the moment, which was one of our previous fundraising attempts! Our names are James Long, Adam Graves, Monty Monro and we are raising money for Classrooms for Kenya which is a charity set up by the Weald School. Have a look at their website at http://www.classroomsforkenya.org.uk which will show you just how important this is. We are raising this money so we can go to Kenya next year with the school to help build safe school buildings for Kenyan children. The money that we raise through this event will be used for two things: to pay for the materials needed for the classroom and to help send us there to build them. We take it for granted that we have somewhere to go to school, but they don't even have this. We need to raise £1400 each before July next year, so please donate generously to help us reach this amount. We are planning to cycle from Billingshurst in West Sussex to Brighton Pier, East Sussex on Thursday 30th October 2008. This journey will be 26.5 miles one way, rest at Brighton for lunch then 26.5 miles back. Please donate generously to help us reach our target of £500. Thank you for your support
