We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

Story

I did it - I ......................did it! Several blisters and sore feet later I arrived in Liverpool on the 20-9-2008 after leaving Leeds on the 13-9-2008 - all pretty much as planned.

Thanks to everyone who helped out either by walking some of the distance with me or collecting my dirty washing at intervals! Thanks also to everyone who has kindly donated to Wigan and Leigh Hospice either on line or by cheque / cash. For those who haven't quite got around to donating - it's not too late! Perhaps you were waiting to see if I did it or not - well now I have - no excuses. Please be generous - it's a very good cause. Thanks.

Now to put my feet up and have a rest - until next time...............

Regards -

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have decided to go for a stroll along the Leeds Liverpool canal from Leeds to Liverpool - a total of 127 miles - leaving Leeds on the 13-9-2008 and hopefully arriving in Liverpool on the 20-9-2008 - 8 days later!

This something I thought of doing when I reached my half century several years ago and have decided that, at last, it is now or never!

I guess that apart from 'enjoying' the walk, I may as well try and do something useful and make the blisters, sore feet etc more worthwhile. I cannot think of a more worthwhile cause than the local hospice. I am hoping to raise a minimum of £10 per mile, a total of at least £1,270.

I hope to stay at local B + B's en-route but intend to meet all expenses myself, therefore any money raised will go to the hospice.

Any donations will, of course, be gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation.
