Edward’s Trust was founded by Peter and Hilary Dent in 1989 in memory of their son, Edward, who died of cancer when he was 7 years old.

Edward’s Trust is a registered charity working in the Birmingham area.

Their aims are:

• To provide support for anyone affected by the death of a child – whatever their age or cause of death, including one to one counselling, bereaved parents groups and more informal coffee mornings

• To provide support for bereaved children of school age, either at Edward’s Trust or through outreach work in schools, including one to one counselling, social opportunities for children to meet with other bereaved young people and a yearly residential weekend

• To provide training and consultation for professionals working with bereaved families including guidance, written information, training and support

• To provide complementary therapies and respite bereavement care for parents and carers

• They also provide pre-bereavement counselling, support and guidance to families facing the terminal illness of a loved one.

Edward's Trust relies very heavily on voluntary donations. You can help the Trust continue their life changing work by making a donation, taking part in a sponsored activity or organising your own fundraising event !!
