Thanks for visiting the Biotech Babes Christmas 2008 fundraising page.

We are a group of senior women executives in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors (and support sectors such as venture capitalists providing funding, legal advisers and investment bankers, all engaged in biotech work).   We meet for networking events about once a calendar quarter and any proceeds from our activities are donated to charity.  We are raising money for Women’s Aid.  One in four women from all walks of life experience domestic violence and the impact on them and their children can be far-reaching and serious.  Women's Aid is the key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. It supports a network of over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the United Kingdom.

Our Christmas Event was very generously sponsored by Covington & Burling, international law firm, where a number of Biotech Babes work.  Thanks to this generous sponsorship, every penny raised by Babes' donations went to Women's Aid.  As you can see, we exceeded our fund-raising target of £1000 by more than £400.  At our event, we also ran a collection point for the charity Dress for Success and made a sizeable donation of business clothing, accessories and shoes to the Islington branch.

We will be holding a further event in London in February again in support of Women's Aid.
