CTC+ Relay 6th & 7th June 2008
“A continuous relay from Whitehaven to Sunderland including the Club’s new home Lord Lawson School, Birtley”
Celebrating 21 years of Athletics and supporting
The Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund
For more information visit our web site.

A relay is being organised to celebrate 21st anniversary of Birtley Athletics Club.
The route from Whitehaven to Sunderland follows the Coast to Coast (C2C) Cycle Path calling at Lord Lawson School on route (C2C+).
We are also asking members/parents/friends to raise funds for the
Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund.

The relay will start at 8:00pm on Friday 6th June and continue through the night until the finish at Roker Beach before (hopefully) 4:00pm Saturday 7th June.

There will be 24 legs on route, plus short legs at Lord Lawson, with distances ranging from 11 miles to 2 miles with shorter legs within the Lord Lawson School grounds.

The "Baton" will be filled with sea water at Whitehaven by the oldest Club member, who will then pass it on to the first leg runner.
When the baton reaches Roker it will be passed to the youngest Club member who will pour the Irish Sea water into the North Sea.
