Story

Hi! Welcome to my sponsorship page. At the end of March 2007 I will be taking part in the Marathon de Sables (MDS), billed as the toughest foot race on earth. For this event, I will be raising money for The Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Charitable Fund, a registered charity, working to generate sustained income to allow the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust to fund priority projects at both hospitals each year - projects which are not eligible for statutory NHS funding. Monies raised through the Charitable Fund are allocated to innovative research projects, medical equipment, and patient facilities. Many of you will know my brother Garry, needed and received a heart operation at Harefield Hospital when he was very young. A very worthy cause and I know I will be thinking about it when out in the desert. The Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) is a 6 day, 151 mile) ultramarathon self sufficiency race. The event is held every year in the southern Moroccan Sahara desert. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Charitable Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Please dig deep and sponor me whatever you can! Many thanks in advance for your support. Bjorn
