In August 2011 I will be cycling the route taken by my Grandad and his Regiment during World War II.
I will be cycling through the UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany alone and unaided.

I estimate the route to be between 1200 & 1500 miles and to take around 2 weeks.

The route is still being finalised having researched the movements of  151 Ayrshire Yeomanry (Grandads regiments) and 11th Armoured Division (The Black Bulls) who were tied in with 151 at various points during the war.

The aim is to raise as much money for the British Legion as possible. More specifically, for Galanos House in Southam, Warks. Galanos a home for ex-servicemen and thier dependants and looks after some of the people who fought so galantly during the war.

My Grandad Mr Harry Walker is 94 Yrs old and still going strong heading up Rugbys No.1 branch of the Legion. You may have seen him deliver the Eulogy at Rugbys rememberance day service over the last few years or selling poppies in the Clock Towers shopping centre.

I am paying for 100% of the cost of the trip so ALL funds will go directly to the charity.
