Blind Dave’s Epic Journey for Macmillan
- The top2toe £100,000 challenge !!
"WE SMASHED IT"
Not only did we reach the £100,000 target figure,
with your help we exceeded all expectations.
"THANKYOU TO EACH & EVERYONE OF YOU"
Blind Dave Heeley, inspirational speaker with a CV that includes 7 Marathons in 7 Days on 7 Continents in 2008, is going one incredible step further – one gigantic , epic leap forward in fact, for Macmillan Cancer Support in their Centenary year of 2011.
His epic fundraiser for Macmillan next year will help us make a massive difference to the lives of people living with cancer.
This time he is planning to start his epic top2toe challenge from John’o’Groats on the 10 August 2011 – with a 26.2 mile marathon, then a tandem bike ride on that first day of around 100 miles, followed by a marathon the next day and then a tandem bike ride of 75 miles plus. That pattern will be repeated for 10 consecutive days ! 10 marathons in ten days and 800 plus miles biking !
Dave has targeted the event to raise a massive £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and already the support is flowing. For more details on this incredible challenge and to donate – please go to www.blinddaveheeley.co.uk/top2toe .
Steve Dourass , Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said “this epic challenge is almost superhuman, and for such an inspirational and very special person like Dave to support Macmillan in this way, means that we can generate ‘massive’ profile and additional funding in a very special year, for the many support services that Macmillan provides to those living with cancer”
Thank you to Dave and all those supporting his amazing effort – Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. We provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help. We are Macmillan.
